K\u0131br\u0131s sorununun \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm\u00fc y\u0131llardan sonra \u00e7ok \u00f6nemli bir ivme kazanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. G\u00f6r\u00fc\u015fme s\u00fcrecinde her iki liderin iyi niyeti, bar\u0131\u015f diline verdi\u011fi \u00f6nem ve iki toplumun yak\u0131nla\u015fmas\u0131na y\u00f6nelik ortaya koyduklar\u0131 \u00e7abay\u0131 takdirle selaml\u0131yoruz.<\/p>\n

Bu s\u00fcrecin en k\u0131sa s\u00fcrede adada y\u0131llarca devam eden sorunun \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm\u00fcyle sonu\u00e7lanaca\u011f\u0131n\u0131 d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcyoruz. Buna \u015fimdiden toplumlar\u0131 haz\u0131rlamak biz sivil toplum \u00f6rg\u00fctlerinin de \u00f6nemli g\u00f6revlerindendir.<\/p>\n

Kuzeydeki Ma\u011fusa \u0130nisiyatifi ve g\u00fcneydeki Ma\u011fusa Kentimiz \u0130nisiyatifi olarak, 2013 y\u0131l\u0131ndan bu yana y\u00fcr\u00fctt\u00fc\u011f\u00fcm\u00fcz aktif i\u015fbirli\u011fiyle, kentin birle\u015fmesine, kentlilerin etkile\u015fimine, empati duygular\u0131n\u0131n geli\u015fmesine kayda de\u011fer bir katk\u0131 koydu\u011fumuza inan\u0131yoruz. Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n kentin varolan ge\u00e7ici s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131n\u0131 halen kald\u0131rmasa da g\u00f6n\u00fcllerde ve beyinlerdeki ayr\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131 ve b\u00f6l\u00fcnm\u00fc\u015fl\u00fc\u011f\u00fc yok etti\u011fine inan\u0131yoruz.<\/p>\n

Davos\u2019ta liderlerin kar\u015f\u0131l\u0131kl\u0131 anlay\u0131\u015f g\u00f6sterdikleri, Referandumun hemen ard\u0131ndan ara b\u00f6lge ve kapal\u0131 Mara\u015f\u2019\u0131n iadesini onaylama ihtimalleri, ger\u00e7ekten de Referandumda Evet oylar\u0131n\u0131n artmas\u0131n\u0131 kolayla\u015ft\u0131racakt\u0131r.<\/p>\n

Ma\u011fusa\u2019n\u0131n adan\u0131n birle\u015fmesine ve bu s\u00fcre\u00e7le beraber kent ve ada ekonomisine ciddi bir ivme kazand\u0131racak potansiyeli i\u00e7inde bar\u0131nd\u0131rd\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 herkes kabul etmektedir. Tam da bu birle\u015fme sonras\u0131na haz\u0131rl\u0131kl\u0131 olabilmek i\u00e7in Ma\u011fusa Liman\u0131\u2019n\u0131, Ma\u011fusa Suri\u00e7i\u2019ni ve kapal\u0131 Mara\u015f\u2019\u0131 yeniden g\u00fcn\u00fcn ko\u015fullar\u0131nda ya\u015fama d\u00f6nd\u00fcrmek i\u00e7in \u015fimdiden g\u00f6revlendirilecek bir yerli-yabanc\u0131 Teknik Uzmanlar Heyeti\u2019nin buralarda durum tesbit ve fizibilite \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131na ba\u015flamas\u0131 ve muhtemelen y\u0131l sonuna kadar bulunacak \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcme haz\u0131rlamas\u0131n\u0131 yeniden talep etmekteyiz.<\/p>\n

Durum tespitine paralel olarak Ma\u011fusa kentinin b\u00fct\u00fcnc\u00fcl planlanmas\u0131na y\u00f6nelik \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar m\u00fczakereler \u00e7at\u0131s\u0131 alt\u0131nda harekete ge\u00e7irilmelidir. Bu y\u00f6nde at\u0131lacak ad\u0131mlar m\u00fczakere s\u00fcrecinde \u00f6ng\u00f6r\u00fclemeyecek konular\u0131n \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm\u00fcne de katk\u0131 koyacak ve kentin \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm sonras\u0131 b\u00fct\u00fcnle\u015fik bir kent olmas\u0131n\u0131n alt yap\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 da haz\u0131rlayacakt\u0131r.<\/p>\n

B\u00f6yle bir \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma ayni zamanda iki kesimdeki toplumlar\u0131n, \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm\u00fcn faydalar\u0131na olan inanc\u0131n\u0131 da art\u0131racak ve \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcm sonras\u0131 yeniden yap\u0131lanma i\u00e7in zamandan \u00f6nemli tasarruf sa\u011flayacakt\u0131r.<\/p>\n

Ma\u011fusal\u0131lar olarak \u00fclkemizin yeniden birle\u015fmesi i\u00e7in her t\u00fcrl\u00fc \u00e7abaya destek verece\u011fiz, \u00fclkemizin b\u00f6l\u00fcnm\u00fc\u015fl\u00fc\u011f\u00fcne ve bug\u00fcnk\u00fc kabul edilmez stat\u00fckonun devam\u0131na da hi\u00e7bir zaman raz\u0131 olmayaca\u011f\u0131z.<\/p>\n

The Peace Process Must Continue<\/strong><\/p>\n

The solution of Cyprus problem has gained a significant momentum after many years. We salute; the goodwill of both leaders in the negotiation process, the importance they\u2019ve attributed to peace language and the effort put forward by them for reconciliation between two communities.<\/p>\n

We think this process will end up with a solution to the long lasting problem on the island. It is also one of the main duties of civil society organisations like us to prepare the communities from now.<\/p>\n

Through our active cooperation since 2013 as the Famagusta Initiative in north and Famagusta Our Town in the south, we beleive that we\u2019ve made a worthwhile contribution to the reunification of the town, to the interaction of inhabitants as well as to the improvement on the senses for emphaty.We beleive that, although our work has not lifted the temporary physical barriers of the city, it has eliminated the seperation and division in hearts and minds.<\/p>\n

The possibility of an approval for the return of buffer zone and fenced off Varosha just after the Referendum, on which the leaders declared a mutual understanding in Davos, is going to facilitate the rise on Yes votes in a Referendum indeed.<\/p>\n

Everybody has been acknowledging the potential of Famagusta which can reunite the island and accompanied by this process, can trigger a major momentum for the economy of the city and islandwide. Just to get started preparing for this post reunification era with today\u2019s existing conditions and for the revival of Famagusta Port, the Walled City and fenced off Varosha, we redemand the deployment of a local-international Team of Technical Experts who can begin facts finding and feasibility studies to assist the region until a possible solution before the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Under the umbrella of negotiations and in parallel to facts finding, studies should be initiated as well for integrated planning of Famagusta. The steps to be taken in that direction will also help solving unpredictable problems during the negotiation process and will provide a base for Famagusta to be an integrated city after a solution.<\/p>\n

Such a study is going to persuade communities on both sides too for the benefits of a solution and is going to save a lot of time on restructuring during the post solution period.<\/p>\n

As Famagustians, we will continue to support every effort towards the reunification of our country and will never consent to the division of our country or the continuation of the unacceptable todays\u2019 status quo.<\/p>\n
